The client brief

The Surgical, Treatment and Rehabilitation Service (STARS) is the newest healthcare facility for Metro North Hospital and Health Service (MNHHS). The facility is designed to provide a range of new and expanded healthcare services. Including specialist rehabilitation services to meet the growing demand for surgery and reduce patient wait times. The new facility includes seven operating theatres and three procedure rooms.

Our proposal

MDI introduced single and tandem motorised pendants featuring bespoke console units meticulously crafted to address clinicians’ specific requirements. The primary objective was to streamline surgical workflows within the operating theatres while seamlessly integrating with other essential equipment. Additionally, MDI pioneered a novel concept in patient recovery areas by introducing screwless medical service panels, which not only facilitate easy cleaning but also minimise infection control risks.
